The Cadet nodded at her Teacher's request.

"14 pebbles, to represent each day you have been home with the Chongunate."

Every morning, She would wash and dress, and set to find a pebble.

One day, she smiled at her teacher as she poured hundreds of pebbles at the Magistrate's feet.

Looking bewildered and slightly concerned, the Magistrate asked;

"Cadet, you completed this trial many months ago, why did you continue collect all these pebbles?"

The Cadet gleamed with happiness as she threw the last pebble down...

"A year today, I came home."
